Third Friday with Shannon Morgan and Kay Faust

Shannon Morgan’s collages combine humor, quick wit, and memories from her own lived experiences, all pulled together in an effort to remind the viewer of a similar time in their life, and to make them grin with a smirk.  While ‘Fast Like Your Mom’ is humorous in nature, not all pieces were born from when life was easy, however Morgan finds that laughter is vital in healing and overcoming hard times.  She understands that laughter truly is the best medicine.   The inspiration behind all of her work, regardless of medium, are not only her fundamental beliefs in equality, feminism, acceptance, and activism, but above all else her son, Waylon.

Sewing, crocheting and crafting for more than five decades, Kay Faust learned at an early age that these skills allowed me to create unique, useful and fun things!  From funky tote bags and baby bibs to over the collar bandanas and snuffle balls for pets, she enjoys making things that are colorful and FUNctional.
