Third Friday Durham Celebrates Winter in July
Deck the square – it’s all things Yule in July! Join us downtown for a holiday celebration in the middle of summer. We’re bringing the magic of the season with a snow machine to keep things cool, festive activities for the whole family, and a DJ spinning holiday favorites and feel-good hits all evening.
Don’t miss the unveiling of our Weird Windows campaign.
Whether you’re a Christmas-in-July believer or just here for the snow machine, this is one Third Friday you won’t want to miss.
Free and open to the public.

Da, Da, Da: Trios
A solo exhibition by Jennifer Clifton
Elements arranged in threes satisfy me. While these are not triptychs in the classical sense because each piece works alone, I grouped them along strong threads of meaning and surface qualities, some at conception and others after completion. The groupings enhance the experience, hopefully providing a chance for viewers to
discover themes and commonalities of their own. I believe an artist’s intent is secondary to an audience’s discovery and experience. I hope you enjoy making connections within each set and among all of the trios.

Submit an event:
The Third Friday Durham Event Calendar is used to promote arts-related events and activities taking place in Durham County on the Third Friday of each month.
Event organizers are also encouraged to use the hashtag #thirdfridaydurham on social media, and to invite @thirdfridaydurham to collaborate on Instagram.
Requirements for Submission
All events must:
- occur within Durham County
- be open to the general public
- take place on the third Friday of the month
- take place between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., or overlap this window
Downtown Durham, Inc. maintains full editorial control over all submitted events, including the right to exclude events as necessary. The Third Friday Durham Event Calendar is for informational purposes only and does not imply endorsement by DDI. Please allow up to 2-3 business days for your event to appear on the calendar.
Public events may require permitting, which is not handled by DDI. Please visit the City of Durham special events page to ensure proper permits have been secured.
