Durham, N.C. – Downtown Durham, Inc. will launch The Streetery – opening multiple streets in the center of downtown to pedestrian traffic, with festive lights, music and performers – at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 18. The Streetery will run every Friday and Saturday from 5-9:30 through December 19.
“This is our way of welcoming folks to a safer, socially distanced, outdoor downtown experience,” Nicole J. Thompson, Downtown Durham, Inc. president and CEO said. “Downtown businesses are taking every precaution to keep everyone as safe as possible. Many have completed the Back on the Bull health and safety checklist. It’s an extra tool Durham’s Recovery and Renewal Task Force has made available to make sure everyone knows how to do their part to keep our community safe.
“With The Streetery occurring every weekend for the next 14 weeks, we want everyone to come downtown often, visit our restaurants, shop at our stores, sit under the stars and enjoy local musicians and performers.”
