Whistle Down Wind Feature Film Premiere

Durham-born writer/director Andie Morgenlander returns to Bull City for the world premiere of their debut feature film. The project, Whistle Down Wind, was shot in Western North Carolina through an ethical framework promoting holistic production culture.

The story goes like this, “When a drunken teenage kiss propels Janie and Alex’s quirky friendship into a hidden love affair, the conservative ideologies of their Appalachian hometown force them to confront the truth about their sexualities — and the bitter future of their relationship.”

This premiere, an OUTSouth Queer Film Festival event, celebrates North Carolina’s role as an epicenter of Southern, LGBT+ cinema, spotlighting actors and crew members who got their start in Durham!

Whistle Down Wind is a collaboration between Raleigh-based production company Glassfire and Justice Film Collective.
