Third Friday at DAC-opening of two new shows!

Join us at the Durham Arts Council for Third Friday! We are celebrating the opening of two new shows in our galleries. In the Allenton gallery, Christa Capua’s “The Hours After Helene” is an ode to the Book of Hours, and finding strength after natural disasters, all through Capua’s unique southern futurism photocollage works. Upstairs in the Semans gallery, two artists share “Rooted in Joy”, which celebrates the botanical works of Kristin Gibson and Charisse Coleman. Gibson’s unique still life paintings which use the alla-prima painting method, and Coleman’s original eco-prints, highlight a love of nature, and urge the viewers to take a breath and enjoy.

There will be light fare, drinks, and free activities.
