I AM AN ANCESTOR TOO Reception

The Durham Art Guild presents the final reception for: I AM AN ANCESTOR TOO featuring works by 2023 Artist in Residence Assata Goff in partnership with the Black on Black Project. Assata Goff is a multimedia artist and animator born and raised in Durham, NC. “I AM AN ANCESTOR TOO” is an immersive mixed media experience that is centered around moments of Assata’s self-reflection. In this exhibition, Assata explores themes of eco-futurism and radical self-love through a black queer magical realism lens.
