Join us as we dive into the new year for a night of raw, ethereal techno. Historically, the oceanic Abyss was thought to be cold, oppressive and devoid of life. To the peculiar creatures who exist below the depths, it is their home.

Johan Yardan
A New York transplant, Johan’s style of driving techno blends tribal rhythms with evocative melodies and urban groove. Growing up in a “melting pot” had a profound effect on his style; the energy of Afro-Caribbean and Latin block parties that punctuated summer days stand out in every set. His goal is not to play the music you like, but to play the music you didn’t know you liked. He strives for perfection in every track, balancing unrelenting momentum with thought provoking atmosphere.
A Between2Clouds resident, Johan has played across NC supporting artists like Donald Glaude, Hector and Rafa Barrios to name a few. Johan also makes recurring appearances supporting Raleigh-based Subtek Music, Rabbit Whole Productions and Durham-based Dancegruv.

Simons
Simons is an up-and-coming techno producer and DJ based out of Charlotte, NC. In 2021, he moved back to Charlotte after spending time in Wilmington, NC and Cologne, Germany. The artist quickly became acclimated with the city’s club culture and underground electronic music scene. With influences from artists like Dax J, Maceo Plex, Charlie Sparks and Adriatique, Connor aims to provide a unique sound that blends the boundaries between melodic and industrial techno creating a deep, driving soundscape that fills the dance floor with energy.
Having frequented raves in Paris, Prague, Detroit, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York, Simons has a vision to bring similar experiences to his city and surrounding area. He’s had the opportunity to play at affluent venues in Charlotte such as Bassment, Music Yard and various warehouses, and hopes to continue this upward trend in the coming years.

Theydylike
Theydylike is an alias of formerly known Lady Fingers and currently known Maille Forme. They are inarguably one of the pillars of the Triangle’s queer electronic music scene, with past parties such as Pegasus, Bent, Proto Futuro and Body Politic in Chapel Hill’s quintessential Nightlight and one of the oldest gay bars in the nation, The Cave (formerly Pegasus).
Alik’s selection , sets, and party curation are chef’s kiss. They have releases on the pivotal Chicago label Trax Records and the Berlin-based, femme-centric label Sound Warrior, to name a few.
