While in residence, Vonnie plans to continue work on his project "Mae in the Midst of a Summer," which recounts the unsolved murder of his maternal grandmother, Mae Ethel Turner, killed in 1996. Through an interactive zine, experimental film, and collaged works, combining photographs from childhood with present-day images, Vonnie seeks to imagine his grandmother's would-be-existence in the present.
