Yin Yoga for Autism Awareness – LIVE STREAMING
April 4 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
with Christine Veit
Join us for a Yin Yoga workshop to benefit Autism Speaks.
April is Autism Awareness month, and this disorder affects nearly every 1 in 59 children. With boys being four times more likely to have the disorder, cases of autism spectrum are extremely common. Signs of autism include avoiding social interaction and eye contact, aggressive outbursts, different or slower learning paths, and, in some cases, complete non-verbal communication.
Like yoga, with awareness comes shifts, and the autism community needs more awareness to provide resources to families who cannot afford therapy, and scientists to better our understanding and further the research of the autistic spectrum. It is common to call autism a “spectrum,” and like us and our yoga practice, there are many different forms of yoga which all lead to the same goal: oneness.
This workshop will be a long yin asana practice, followed by a guided meditation and a deep savasana. Expect poses to be seated or lying down, and held for about 5-7 minutes. You will leave feeling lighter and at peace, having contributed to a great cause and having enjoyed 120 minutes of pure bliss. All levels welcome!
our classes are now live-streaming!
All of our locations (Global Breath, 21c, Spanda) will remain closed until further notice, due to the corona virus situation. In order to continue offering yoga during this challenging time, all our classes are now live-streaming.
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
