The Durham Art Guild presents, “YÍNG YǍNG [NUTRITION]” featuring new works by DAG’s 2022 Artist in Residence, Isabel Lu.
Isabel Lu is a visual artist and public health researcher born and raised in North Carolina. Their work focuses on how Asian American identity intersects with public health, food, and artistic expression, specifically on intergenerational relationships and Chinese-American history.
“This body of work is the product of a process to learn more about myself and other Asian Americans around me though food. The work represents the diverse stories of four Asian Americans in North Carolina, and how food has played a central role in the evolution of our lives and identities.” This work was created in collaboration with Ree Ree Wei, Lisa Pham, and Trang Lê.
