Grab a beverage and soak in the vibrant works of Cary-based artist Tyrone Smalls. Smalls’s artistic journey began in elementary school and led him to earn a degree in art in college. In 2019, after a few years working in real estate, Smalls took a leap of faith and began working on art full-time. Since then, he has tackled various artistic projects, including three murals in the Triangle area and an additional mural set to be completed in 2022. One of these murals was unveiled by then-Carrboro Mayor Lydia Lavelle.

Tyrone’s work on display at The Oak House takes popular culture images and icons and superimposes them on canvases of vibrant patterns to invite connections between the two elements.
