Derrick Beasley’s new piece explores the inevitable intersection of humanity, technology, and nature — the singularity.
Beasley is a multidisciplinary artist raised in Durham. He engages audiences through installation, space making, wood work, photography, and design. His work explores the intersection of science, science fiction, human experience and our collective and individual capacity to change our reality.
Darrell Stover is presently lecturer in Africana Studies at North Carolina State University where his most popular class is “Black Popular Culture: From the Blues to Afrofuturism.” He has engaged diverse communities encouraging vibrant cultural expression through writing and performance workshops. He is a published poet, cultural historian, performance artist, and science communicator with a Masters degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University.
