Originally founded in 2012 as the Durham party collective Shut Up and Dance, The Floor carries on the original mission of creating an inclusive and inviting dance-music scene in Durham. With humble beginnings in Lloyd’s Lounge and Motorco’s Garage Bar (now Parts & Labor), The Floor has thrown down at some of Durham’s best venues including the Motorco Showroom, 21c Museum Hotel, The Rooftop at The Durham, Mercury Studios (now The Mothership), Surf Club, Arcana Lounge, and The Fruit.

Producers of the fabled Moogfest after parties at The Fruit, The Floor provides an underground experience many are surprised to find in the Triangle.

This passion project is kept alive by house and techno heads Morgan Haynes (Strider, co-founder), Adam Graetz (thefacesblur), Reneé Cagnina Haynes (Marie), and Marshall Jones.
