Speaking with the Universe

Two performances of poetry and music braided together, featuring Li-Young Lee and David Whetstone.

Friday, October 25 at 7:30 at the Durham Arts Council.
Saturday October 26 at 7:30 at Finch Chapel, Greensboro College.

Li-Young Lee is the author of multiple books, most recently The Undressing (W.W. Norton, 2018). An American poet born in Jakarta, Indonesia, he has won numerous honors, including a Whiting Award and a Lannan Literary Award, and has made a tremendous impact on the world of contemporary poetry.

Musician, author, artist, and composer David Whetstone is a shagird (disciple) of the legendary sitarist Ustad Vilayat Khan. He has collaborated and toured extensively with poets Robert Bly and Coleman Barks since 1974.
