Siempre Puente at The Oak House Durham

August 13, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Siempre Puente was founded in Córdoba, Argentina in 2018 by Franco Martino (Che Apalache) and Sol Vidales Beduchaud.
The band’s name comes from the concept of a person being a “Bridge”(Puente), something that connects us amongst and within ourselves, that can reach across different circumstances.
Franco Martino is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and music producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Being born in a cosmopolitan city has led Franco to be a versatile musician, an explorer of many styles and traditions.
He is the guitarist of the Grammy-nominated band Che Apalache.
Sol is an astrologist, writer, singer and composer also from Buenos Aires.
She is dedicated to work with different alternative therapies that helps people in their own personal development.
Since a child, she dreamed of making a space where art could be a bridge to everyone just to be themselves, in freedom and without judgement. Because of that dream, the name of the band appears, trying to be always a bridge that connects people with their own humanity. She currently works online with astrology as her principal tool and give meditation classes.
Both work together writing songs that cross different rhythms and styles of music, they share a diverse taste of folk music from all over the world.
Currently playing as an acoustic duet, they bring folk music from South to North America and their own compositions, including songs from their first album “Historias de un embarque” (Stories of a Shipment), recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2020.
This album has been inspired by the sea, nature, folklore and adventures of setting off into the unknown.
It speaks to cycles of life and death, of arrivals and departures. It contains five stories, fruit of the different landscapes and ports that they have been visiting in recent times. The songs mix poetry, world music, argentinian rhythms, music from Río de la Plata like candombe and also pop, swing and folk.
They pulled together a lot of different musical styles and instruments to make the sound for this album. It has guitars, banjo, flutes, candombe drums, bombo leguero, trumpet, trombone, electric bass, piano, voices and more!
Currently they are traveling the US, gettin new and fresh inspiration for the upcoming songs.
