September 12, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, repeating until December 27, 2020

We have spiffed up PS 118 during the downtime and installed three exhibits.

BLOOM:a Suite of works by Heather Evans Smith

Visual artist Heather Evans Smith’s work reflects her Southern roots, motherhood, womanhood,
and an adventurous imagination she relied on as an only child in a rural town. This exhibit
presents five large scale works and we have both of Heather’s photobooks on display and for sale.

TRAILER PARK: a group exhibit

Works by artists and craftspersons who have solo exhibits or trunk events scheduled in the future.
“Trailer” because these works act as trailers or teasers for their upcoming exhibits, and “Park” because the exhibit has been parked online at PS 118 until we decided it was safe to open our doors.

(RE) CONSTRUCTION: Recent works by Sean Livingstone and Caitlin Cary

Cary focuses on the built environment, exploring the shapes, patterns, personalities, and politics
of structures through fabric collages, stitch, and “drawings” with a sewing machine. Sean’s work
is made largely from ephemera and found materials including enamel, canvas, LPs, a collection
of vintage Letraset transfer, and brushes culled from estate sales and deals with themes of senti-mentality and attachment, memory, and non-permanence.

Current Hours: Saturdays 11-3.
and by appt at dave at M-F. Please know we are happy to schedule viewings during the week until the covid situation improves and we can open up more often.
