Historic Durham and Tobacco Empire Tours
June 29, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 1:00 pm on [day], repeating until August 31, 2019
Tobacco Road Tours takes you on a motorized, professionally guided tour to where Durham’s roots began & where the City has evolved today. North Carolina’s “Triangle”, with some of the United States best historical markers, culture, architecture, food and stories await you as we travel the “City of Medicine” on TRT’s Historic Durham tour. Thanks to media marketing, modern census figures and a shared international airport Raleigh/Durham exists in the minds of many Americans as a single city in the southeastern United States. However, as native Tarheels are well aware, Raleigh and Durham are two distinct communities. They lie about 25 miles apart within the rolling hills of Piedmont North Carolina. Each has a fascinating history that makes it unique and worthy of individual study. “Really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Brad was great. Very informative and fun. The tour gives you a lot of history of the area and plenty of ideas about things to do in Durham”.
