Full Frame Documentary Film Festival

April 4 @ 10:00 am - 9:00 pm

The Festival

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the theatrical exhibition of nonfiction cinema. Each spring, Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, North Carolina, for a four-day, morning-to-midnight array of nearly 100 films, as well as discussions, panels, and Southern hospitality. Set within a few city blocks, the intimate festival landscape fosters community and conversation among filmmakers, film professionals, and the public.

The festival is a program of the Center for Documentary Studies, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and receives support from corporate sponsors, private foundations, and individual donors whose generosity provides the foundation that makes the event possible. The Presenting Sponsor of the festival is Duke University.

Our Mission

Full Frame serves the documentary form and its community by showcasing the contemporary work of established and emerging filmmakers. The festival provides a space that nurtures conversation between artists, students, and the Full Frame audience. Full Frame is committed to enhancing public understanding and appreciation of the art form and its significance, while making films more accessible to a wider audience.

How to Purchase

The Duke University Box Office manages all pass and ticket sales. To purchase passes, ticket packages, and single tickets, please visit the Duke University Box Office website.

Passes and ticket packages go on sale February 13. Single tickets go on sale March 28.

Passes and single tickets cannot be purchased or processed at the Full Frame offices. All pass and ticket sales are final.

The Fine Print

The 26th annual Full Frame Documentary Film Festival takes place entirely in-person in downtown Durham from April 4 through April 7, 2024.

Please note: all sales on passes, ticket packages, and single tickets are final.

Each film is shown in its original language with English subtitles unless otherwise noted. Unless noted, films are not rated; viewer discretion is advised. Events, programs, and screenings are subject to change at the discretion of Full Frame.

Passholders and ticket package holders must reserve tickets in advance to a festival screening. A pass alone will not grant access to a screening unless the passholder is queued in the Last Minute Line. Access to a film through the Last Minute Line is not guaranteed.

Patrons must be in line 30 minutes prior to showtime with a ticket reserved for the screening or event to guarantee a seat. If a ticketholder arrives after seating has concluded, they may not be granted access to the screening.

Seat saving and late seating are not permitted.
