Durham Savoyards Present The Yeomen of the Guard Sing-Along
November 13, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Our public sing-along of The Yeomen of the Guard will be on Sunday, November 13th, 2022, at 2pm in the IBM Room in the basement of the Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris St, Durham, NC. It will also be available simultaneously online – come back here for details. We’re excited to be able to start getting together!
I have a song to sing-o!
The annual sing-along is a chance for people from the community to sing through the entire score of the upcoming show. You do not have to be a member of the Durham Savoyards to participate. If you love Gilbert and Sullivan, if you love to sing, please come!
COVID changes – This will be a fully masked event, and your mask must fully cover your nose and mouth unless you are actively taking a sip of water (no bandana-style masks or face shields without a mask, please).
The sing-along will be in the large basement room at the Durham Arts Council (see below for directions). You can sing along on every part you ever wanted to sing, including the leads… in any octave that you wish. This year we will have a limited number of scores to buy or borrow, so if possible please bring your own or download a digital copy to bring with you. The leaders will be using the Schirmer score.
Come and see old friends if you’ve been involved with Durham Savoyards before, or come and make new friends if you are new to the area or are just getting around to learning about this Durham institution that is celebrating its 60th anniversary this season!
We will have information on hand for those who may be interested in either auditioning in December or volunteering to help with the show itself or year-round activities.
Directions to the Durham Arts Council are on the DAC web site. Be prepared for parking in downtown Durham to be even more of a mess than it has been in past years, unfortunately – best to arrive a bit early.
