Durham African American History Tour

Durham is the home of a litany of African American historic sites. Once the site of America’s largest black-owned business, the community known as Black Wall Street was a refuge of hope and opportunity for black entrepreneurs. Join us on this tour of downtown Durham’s black history to discover Durham’s history like never before. The tour is hosted by a professional historian, and focuses on the rise of African American businesses, labor organizations, community organizations, individual biographies, and much more.
