Even if positive reviews can’t convince you that remaking “The Jungle Book” as a live-action extravaganza is a good idea, it’s a phenomenon we’re all going to have to get used to. Nowadays, the Disney-verse is becoming a whole lot more photo-real, with live action and CGI remakes and prequels of their classic animated films all in various stages of development. But if you are a little wary of this live-action, CGI-infused future, it’s probably because there’s so much love for the classic 2D, often hand-drawn animations that Disney has kept locked in their vaults for decades—Until now.
Retro Film Series is proud to announce that Disney has finally unlocked their vault for us, and we’re happy to remind you how great many of these films really are. We’re even programming traditional Saturday morning matinees for families, just like they used to do back when many of these films were originally released.
