The Floor and Party Illegal join forces to flood the basement of the Fruit with forward thinking artists, foggy submarine vibes, and deep ocean bass pressure.
This month we welcome headliners Ani Klang (Berlin) and DJ Pacifier (Montreal) for the first stop on their US tour! They’ll be joined by Durham-based hardware techno mastermind Chainletter and NYC-based Personal Loss of the celebrated Permission crew.
Ani Klang (Berlin)
Ani Klang is a queer hybrid club DJ and producer. She drops hard edge club music and sassy techno in her mindblowing sets. On previous tours she’s played alongside artists like Loraine James, Hudson Mowhawke, Chippy Nonstop, Object Blue, Boris, Giant Swan, Samurai Breaks, Kush Jones, and more.
DJ Pacifier (Montreal)
DJ Pacifier crafts a heavy sound influenced by hardcore and breakcore, getting notoriety for their pulling-no-punches production style and high-octane DJ sets. They have toured Europe and played some killer shows in Montreal and New York with artists such as Total Freedom, Via App, Danny L Harle, DJ Fuck, Viiaan, Roly Porter, etc.
Chainletter uses field recordings, samples from pop music, public domain, tv, and movies to make dance music, ambient, and experimental sound. Their hardware sets are improvisational, leaving room to react to the energy of the crowd. Chainletter has been playing live dance music since before 2012 and is currently focusing on throwing DIY raves producing original tracks, and integrating DJing into their live sets.
Personal Loss (NYC)
Personal Loss is an interdisciplinary artist and DJ whose work meditates on contemporary channels of file sharing and compression. Their sets indulge in the freedom of choice made available via the internet by shedding off the residual mucus of genre constraint. Pushing towards a singular point-a horizon line- a constellation.
Tickets $10 at the door.
