Durham Choice, a partnership between the Durham Housing Authority and the City of Durham, will host an inaugural Back to School Block Party in Hayti, at the Heritage Square (formerly Food World) parking lot on Aug. 23 from 1-3 p.m.
The event aims to support more than 150 school-aged children from DHA communities by providing essential school supplies and support as they prepare for the upcoming academic year, while also creating a fun time for all
Food, drinks and fun are on the schedule, with bounce houses, live music and dancing on sight, plus a special visit from Wayne Drop and the City of Durham fire truck! Free haircuts will also be provided by Thorpe Barbershop.
